The Final Blog!! :(

This is it, this is the final blog that will be written. After today, this account may start to gain a little dust. For now, i will write the final blog. I came into this class with no confidence what so ever. I had no idea what to expect and how things were gonna happen. I do admit that things did go really fast, but slowly with time, I began to understand how things were going to work and that started to make things go a little more easier. Now when I look back at this class, i am surprised to say, that i may just miss this class. I gained much confidence in the work we did and started to have a better understanding of what was expected. Things got messy and sometime they got really mellow. I had a lot of fun being in this class. This class really changed how I wrote papers. I never thought i would do so many papers within a semester. The class really changed me as a writer and now I am even more confident. I feel that with what i learned so far, I can do many research papers without having any major problems. The only problem that i remember having in this class with research was finding and citing the research. I still feel i have problems with this, but it has gotten a lot better. Now I'm sitting here writing and maybe crying over this blog. The other thing that i had problems with. It wasn't that the blogs were hard, it was just hard for me to keep the thoughts flowing from my head so that they could make sense in the blog. I will really miss this class and all the skills and experience that i learned will come with me.

Free Write- Weekend Vacation

My weekend was alright. It could have been a whole lot better. The one thing i found out when i got back into town was that i still had my job. For most of the weekend i was working. When Thanksgiving came around i did more sleeping than i did eating food. I was thankful for the whopping 13 hours of sleep i got in one day. Unfortunately, coming back to school feels like that 13 hours was not enough. If I actually got to eat a lot of turkey i would be a lot more happier with my vacation. I did get to spend a lot of time with my family and that made my vacation a lot better than just working all the time.

Q. # 3

The story that I will be applying the question to is "The Dangerous Game". One element that appeared alot was darkness. The way the author described the conditions of the weather on the boat was also very dark. Then how everytime at night during the hunt it explained the thoughts of Rainsford. I think that the name of the island is ironic with Zaroff and how Zaroff got all his human prey. I also noticed that in the beginning Rainsford was looking at prey as having no feelings what so ever. Zaroff did the same thing with the human prey, saying they had no feelings. Rainsford had changed his mind instantly.

Young Goodman Brown

This story was very hard for me to read. From what i read, i think i like the story. I liked how it showed that the Puritans were not all that pure. It showed that many people have sinned and that it was all around. The story had many elements. The staff the man was holding looked like a serpent and the man that was holding it could have been the devil. The ribbon in the hair was supposed to symbolize some kind of purity. Goodman Brown's Wife, Faith, was representing faith in that story. Goodman Brown had walked away from both faith's in the beginning. When he was half way to his destination he had a change of heart and did not want to keep going. Then the ribbon falls out of the sky and makes him go on a rampage. He then goes to what represented hell. Then later he woke up from what seemed like a dream. That makes me wonder if it really was a dream or not. Overall if it was easier to read i probably would have like this story alot.

A rose for Emily

The story "A Rose for Emily" was a very eerie tale. I thought it was disgusting that she kept poor old Homer up in the bed room to rot. I thought that Emily was insane. The towns people were verysketchy because they did not try to intervine with the problems that Emily was going through. It was eerie that the butler didn't run away until after she died. Which lead me to believe that he could have been responsible for her death. I am sure he knew that she killed Homer. I loved how when she was at the store to pick up poison that she didn't need a reason to get it. I thought that this stroy was very weird and that the towns people should have done something after the death of Emily's father

The most dangerous blog

The short story, "The Most Dangerous Game", was a very eerie kind of story. I love how the story started with the main character having a fight with the others that the prey he hunted did not have feelings, yet when he is confronted by Zaroff, he is offended when Zaroff says that humans do not have any feelings. I also liked the overall plot of the story. The very last ending part was a little sketchy. The first time I read this i was surpriesed that Rainford had jumped off the cliff. I hated the need to know information that was left out and Rainsford somehow got inside the mansion with out anyone knowing. The beginning of the story was very catching. They usded a lot of "dark" elements to describe the environment when they were approching Ship Trap Island. I thought it was funny that Rainsford fell of the boat and how no one heard him yelling. Overall I liked this story and thought it had a very nice plot.

Sleepy Hollow

Well...Ischbod Crane was quite the character. He was tall, thin, had a big nose. He had quite the sing song voice. Everyone enjoyed listening to him sing. Then one day he took interstin to Katrina Van Tussel. I was there at her house many time a week until that rat Ischabod showed up. I was disgusted at the school teacher. Then one day Katrina's father sent out invitations to practically the whole town for a get togther at the mansion. During the event the old timers sat togther and discussed the many interesting stories and scares of the time. Then most interesting of these stories was the headless horsemen that chased me till about the bridge that crossed. That aroused my curiosity. Any rivaly against me was to fall and ischabod should be no problem. Me and my gang hassled him all the time. Then that very night, i renacted that very event that i had expreinced. I chased poor Ischabod over the bridge until he he started to get sloppy on his horse riding. I hit him with a pumpkin and he left the town for good.
Thank god for that.  Any more of Ischabod I would have physically gone up to him and hurt him, but the scare tactic worked
