Lemon-Raid

I watched The word - Lemon-Raid, By Steven Colbert. This was about the Iraqi war and how our invasions were stagged to check out the U.S. funded businesses. This was done to supposedly not let the insurgents know about those businesses. Steve stated that we were raiding Iraq in order to help the busisnesses. Steve was making a joke out of the insurgents and the U.S. His points made were by joking that the war was already won. We were just their to check the businesses. I would have to say he was very successful. Since many people think we are their for no reason, Steve tells them that we are their to protect the U.S. funded buildings from the insurgents so we ate stagging the raids. Steve draws in a crowd that is against the war and makes all the moves look bad, so as a whole he did a good job.

Opinion Blog

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/21/science/earth/21coral.html?ref=science

The article i read was about the coral reefs and how they are becoming damaged by heat stress. Heat stress is caused by the greenhouse gases that get trapped in the atmosphere. The gases in return make the water hotter than normal and cause the coral to bleach. This poese a problem becuse it shows that global warming is now becoming a very real threat. The coral are dying and are an early signal of ecological distress with the build up of green house gasses. I think that a lot of people on this planet don't know what they are doing to this planet. If things like this are goin to happen then why don't people learn to stop and try to fix things. This is just an early signal. What is it going to take for people to start realinzing that they need to pitch in and help get this planet back on the right path. Their are many people that are trying there hardest to get people involved with things like litter control and conserving energy. This article pretty told that if these reefs die then many of the fisheries will go with and leave millions trying to get the fish they love. This planet is the only to sustain life. I don't think it's right to let this planet die and not do anything about it.

narrative topic proposal

The topic that i have picked for my narrative is the passing of my dad. In the beginning of it i will give a little back round as to what lead up to the event. I'm going to tell how he had back problems and needed surgery. He had a few surgeries. The first surgery did not work because the doctor did not diagnose the problem right. After he recovered then he went for another one. That surgery went great. My dad was almost running down the hall after.
Then after i talk about that, i will go into how this event has greatly changed my life and how i had to step up and help my family get throught the tough times. I will talk about how i had to grow up real quick so that i can learn all the things i need to. I will also talk about how i had plenty more responsibilities at home and how my work at school and greatly changed. I went from After school study hall in middle school to honor roll student in high school...

Narrative Brainstormers

Passing away of my father- When horrbile day came of the passing of my dad a switch in my head went off. This switch told me that i would have to be more responsible and that i would have to grow up real quick. My mother was having a hard time raising 2 childeren so i had to start taking responsibilities and help my family succeed. I had this feeling that my dad was their to help me becuase I helped my mother through more than i could ever imagine. It was tough to help my mother with me and my sister but i had plenty of time to develop as an adult and learn what i had to do and how to do it. I could never see a day with out him but ever since then i have definatly grown up.

First Car- When I got my very first car that i was able to drive when ever was when i turned eighteen last march. I had a car but it was my mothers, but this one was special. It was a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse and it gave me a great sense of responsibility. If my mother could get me that car alone meant i had achieved something and now i would have to take care of it. I still have the car and every time i look at it i get the feeling that i have to be responsible here in college. This feeling came out because my mother would never let me out of the house for hours, and after the day she gave me that car it took on a whole new direction. She would trusts me and i can not destroy that.

Joining Marching Band (high school)- When i was in middle school band was just another class to get through. Their was not much we did except play a few notes. Then when i got into high school all that changed. I had to push myself since they were doing things right off the bat that i had no idea how to do. Marching band is my stress reliever and i am glad to have this talent. Playing the trombone has given me a sunny disposition and with that i can get through most anything without feeling like the world is going to end. It gave me the power to do good in school with out the death of my father really making things difficult, since i had this scapegoat to fall back on i went through high school in a breeze. although it still is rough i just turn to my sunny disposition when the going does get tough.

What Defines Me.....

Their are a few things that do define me. The first thing is playing notes out of my trombone. When I was back in high school I remember having a lot of hard classes. Band was how I could get the stress of much of the upcoming day over with and the stress of the previous hours over with as well. I have this very sunny disposition and I thank that all to the talent I have with the trombone.

One of the biggest things that define me would be my mother. When my dad passed away i was only goin into the 8th grade. My middle school career was going horrible and the 8th grade year was even worse. Then when that day came my mother pushed me all the way. She always throttled me to be the best. She would tell me over and over again that i to thirve in my education to make my dad proud. My mother pushed me from middle school disaster all the way up to almost straight A, high school Graduate. Even now when I am old enought to be on my own in college she is always their to love and push me to the limit so I can acheive the high goals I have in life.

These were just a few of the things that define me. As people get to know me, the way I am defined gets reveled slowly because of all that does define me.
